Sequoia to invest in Anthropic as valuation reaches $350 billion
According to the Financial Times, Anthropic is looking to raise $25 billion or more. Sequoia, already an investor in OpenAI and xAI, is set to take part.

According to the Financial Times, the well-known venture firm Sequoia Capital is set to join Anthropic's new funding round.
The numbers
- Anthropic is looking to raise $25 billion or more
- At a valuation of $350 billion, more than double the $170 billion of four months earlier
- Singapore's GIC and Coatue are leading, with $1.5 billion each
- Microsoft and Nvidia have together committed up to $15 billion
Why it stands out
Sequoia is already an investor in OpenAI and xAI. In venture capital, backing direct rivals at the same time has traditionally been unusual. Sam Altman had previously said that investors who back competitors would lose access to OpenAI's confidential information.
Reports also say Anthropic is preparing for a possible stock market listing (IPO), potentially as early as this year.
This is a report and has not been officially announced.
