Nvidia unveils DLSS 5: generative AI makes games more photorealistic
At GTC, Jensen Huang showed DLSS 5, which uses AI to predict parts of the image so games look better with less compute.

What is DLSS 5?
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled DLSS 5 at the GTC keynote on March 16. It combines 3D graphics data with generative AI models.
The AI predicts and fills in parts of an image, so the GPU does not have to render every element from scratch.
The benefit
- More realistic game visuals.
- Less GPU compute needed.
Not just for games
Huang said: "This concept of fusing structured information and generative AI will repeat itself in one industry after another."
Nvidia has not yet announced which GPUs will support DLSS 5 or when.
