LEAP 2026 and DeepFest are scheduled to begin tomorrow, August 31, at the Riyadh Exhibition & Convention Centre in Malham, continuing through September 3. In an August 30 announcement, Deloitte Middle East said its participation would focus on moving AI beyond experimentation into enterprise use. That is a useful lens for following the event's forthcoming announcements.

A demonstration and an operating service

A short demonstration can communicate an idea effectively. Adopting it for everyday work raises additional questions: how will the system handle the organization's actual data, who will repair an error, and how long will an accepted task take once human review is included?

In our assessment, those questions provide a better basis for reading event news than the impression left by one selected example. A successful demonstration does not automatically settle operational details. Each announcement should be judged by what it establishes and what it leaves unanswered before it becomes an internal technology decision.

What to watch in the programme

The organizer's stated themes include AI, cloud and data infrastructure, cybersecurity and fintech. Deloitte also plans a programme on the AI Leader Stage on September 2. That describes an announced programme; its outcomes and any subsequent developments were not yet available at the date of this report.

For enterprise technology readers, we suggest putting each announcement into three columns: what was announced, what is available to use now, and what remains planned. That keeps a cooperation agreement distinct from a completed service launch, and a product-development intention distinct from evidence of successful operation.

It also helps to keep one practical question in view: what job are we trying to get done? A defined task makes it easier to select the information that matters, rather than accumulating product names without understanding where they would fit into a workflow.

Measuring value with a defined task

If a tool is presented for handling customer requests, one possible measure is the time needed to complete an acceptable request. Include the employee's time spent correcting mistakes, and define which categories of request belong in the evaluation.

A team could also ask when a task should return to a person, and who approves an action that affects a customer. These are evaluation questions we propose, rather than claims that we tested a product due to appear at the event.

LEAP may provide an opportunity to discuss those details with vendors. The practical value of an announcement comes from helping an organization understand a specific option and its requirements. That demands more than adding another AI product to a list: it requires knowing what would change in the work itself and how the result would be assessed.
