Instagram may let you remove yourself from someone's Close Friends list
Meta confirmed the feature is in early development. Since 2018 there has been no way to leave someone else's list.

Meta told TechCrunch that Instagram is working on a new feature: leaving someone else's Close Friends list.
What's new?
- Since Close Friends launched in 2018, you could not remove yourself from another person's list
- If you leave, you will no longer see that person's Close Friends stories and posts unless they add you again
- Snapchat already has a similar feature
When?
Meta says it is in an early stage and is not yet being tested publicly. It was spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi.
This feature is still in testing and will be available soon.
