AINOTE 2 at IFA: offline notes and recording do not mean every AI feature is local
iFLYTEK's September 5 announcement describes a 4.2 mm, 295 g E Ink device. The important distinction is between basic offline functions and cloud-assisted processing.

iFLYTEK is showing AINOTE 2 at IFA 2026, according to its September 5 announcement. The company describes a 4.2 mm, 295 g E Ink device supporting meeting transcription in 18 languages and translation across 14. These are manufacturer specifications and language counts, rather than an independent measurement of accuracy.
What works offline?
An earlier technical announcement dated September 2 says handwriting, audio recording and OCR can operate offline. For transcription, translation and cross-device synchronization, European users' data is processed on AWS servers in Frankfurt, according to the company.
Offline should therefore not be generalized to every AI function. When a device combines several jobs, the operating conditions for each need to be read separately. A basic function running locally does not establish how a different function is processed.
Recording and usable notes are different outputs
In our assessment, a useful evaluation treats a meeting workflow as several stages: recording, transcription, summarization and extraction of action items. Success at one stage does not automatically establish correctness at the next.
For example, an incorrectly transcribed name or date could be carried into a well-written summary. We suggest checking names, dates and key decisions against the original recording. That is an evaluation example, not an error we observed in this device.
It also helps to define the actual requirement. Does the user need to retain an audio record, search a transcript, or prepare meeting minutes for review? The answer identifies which stage needs testing, rather than relying on the general impression of having AI in the device.
Check the required language by name
For Kurdish readers, the number of languages alone cannot establish suitability. The required language and dialect, including mixed technical vocabulary and names, deserve assessment with an appropriate sample. This report does not confirm Kurdish or Badini support.
The user can also define an acceptable result and who will review it before adoption. If the goal is meeting minutes, the measure should include correct decisions and action items rather than presentation alone. A polished page is only one part of the required outcome.
The thin design and stated weight explain one aspect of the hardware. Choosing it for work also depends on the workflow and connectivity requirements. We have not tested AINOTE 2 ourselves; this report uses the company's announcements and explains the distinctions between the jobs the device is intended to perform.
