The eighth-generation TPU splits into TPU 8t for training and TPU 8i for inference, with up to 3x faster training.

What's new
At Cloud Next, Google unveiled its eighth-generation TPU chips, now split into two:
- TPU 8t: for training models.
- TPU 8i: for running models (inference).
Google's claims
- Up to 3x faster model training.
- 80% better performance per dollar.
- More than 1 million TPUs working together in a single cluster.
Nvidia
- Google will also offer Nvidia's Vera Rubin chips later this year.
