Google's Personal Intelligence becomes free for all U.S. users
With your permission, Gemini and AI Mode can read Gmail and Google Photos to give more personal answers.

What is it?
Personal Intelligence is a Google feature that connects AI to your apps, such as Gmail and Google Photos, so it can give personal answers without you repeating all the context.
Google says: "Personal Intelligence helps you find exactly what you need without having to give all the context."
What changed?
It used to be for paid subscribers only. Now it is available to all U.S. users:
- AI Mode in Google Search: now.
- Gemini app and Gemini in Chrome: rolling out to free users.
Privacy
- Off by default; you decide if and when to connect each app.
- Google says Gemini does not train directly on your Gmail or Photos libraries.
- Personal accounts only, not Workspace business, enterprise or education accounts.
