What is the M6 foundation?
According to Apple, M6 uses a 2nm process and has a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. It supports up to 32GB of unified memory and bandwidth of up to 170GB/s.
Apple also publishes performance-improvement figures, but these come from company tests using defined configurations. They should not be interpreted as the same acceleration for every workload.
The M5 Pro Mac mini supports up to 64GB of unified memory. That difference illustrates why choosing between the options involves more than the processor’s generation number.
