Anthropic adds plugins to Cowork so Claude can handle department work
Plugins automate specialised tasks like marketing drafts, legal risk reviews and customer support replies. 11 plugins were released as open source.

About two weeks after launching Cowork, Anthropic added plugins to it on January 30.
What do plugins do?
Plugins automate specialised tasks for company departments, such as:
- Writing marketing drafts
- Reviewing legal risks
- Answering customer support requests
Key points
- Anthropic released 11 of its in-house plugins as open source
- Available to all paid Claude subscribers
- For now they are saved locally on your computer; a tool for sharing them across an organisation is "on the way"
- Plugins were already available in Claude Code
