AirPods 5 arrives in stores with $129 and $149 US options
Retail availability begins September 18 after the September 9 announcement. The two versions differ in more than case charging, and US prices do not establish local prices in Kurdistan.

Apple announced retail availability for AirPods 5 on September 18, 2026, following their introduction on September 9. US pricing is $129 for AirPods 5 and $149 for the version with Wireless Charging Case. Those figures do not establish a confirmed retail price in Kurdistan.
Both versions bring active noise cancellation to an open-ear design. Apple says the Wireless Charging Case version also adds on-stem volume control and longer battery life. The difference between the options therefore extends beyond the way the case receives power.
Compare the complete product name
Before comparing offers from two sellers, it is useful to check the full version name. Both listings might say AirPods 5 while offering different cases and controls. Establishing that the units are the same version is the first step towards a meaningful price comparison.
The numerical price is not the whole purchasing decision. Warranty terms, return conditions and compatibility with the buyer's existing devices can affect practical value. Clarifying those points with a seller is especially useful when units come from different markets.
Individual features also need to be related to a real habit. Someone who wants to adjust volume directly on the earbud may value its controls differently from a person who normally reaches for a phone. A buyer who relies on a particular charging arrangement should establish whether the offered case fits that arrangement.
This approach avoids treating the more expensive option as automatically better for every person. The relevant question is which differences the buyer will actually use and whether the local offer includes them.
Fit and calling need their own assessment
An ear-worn design deserves a personal assessment of comfort, stability and accessible controls. In our view, a reasonable opportunity to check fit can be more useful than a long specification list alone. Different daily routines place different demands on the same product.
Noise cancellation for the listener should also be distinguished from microphone quality during a call. A music listener and someone buying for work meetings may reasonably prioritize different evidence. We have not tested AirPods 5 and are not presenting independent sound or calling measurements.
Features connected to Siri AI and translation have additional device, software, language and regional requirements. Buying the earbuds does not automatically make every intelligent service available. Checking the requirements of the feature a person actually wants is more informative than assuming the product name guarantees access.
Today's confirmed development is retail arrival in the launch markets. For a local buyer, the practical next decision is to match the correct version, its useful features and the seller's terms to a specific need.
