# Spotify adds "Verified" badges to separate human artists from AI

## What's new
Spotify introduced the **Verified by Spotify** badge with a **green checkmark**. It rolls out over the coming weeks.

## Who gets it
- Artists with an identifiable presence on and off Spotify.
- Consistent listener activity over time.
- **Profiles that mainly represent AI-generated music or AI personas are not eligible.**

At launch, more than **99%** of the artists listeners actively search for will be verified.

## Why
- According to Deezer, **44%** of new music uploaded daily is AI-generated.
- Sony Music has requested removal of more than **135,000** AI-generated songs impersonating its artists.
