## What happened
**OpenAI** said in a blog post it confidentially submitted a draft registration statement to the **SEC** for a proposed **IPO**, about a week after **Anthropic**.

"We have not decided on timing yet," OpenAI said.

## The numbers
- Last valued at **$852 billion** post-money.
- Raised **$122 billion** in late March, including **$3 billion** from retail investors.
- About **900 million** weekly ChatGPT users.
- Per the WSJ, OpenAI projects burning **$85 billion** in 2028.
