At CES 2026, Nvidia CEO **Jensen Huang** launched the company's new AI computing platform, **Vera Rubin**, saying: "Today, I can tell you that Vera Rubin is in full production."

Rubin succeeds **Blackwell**, which itself replaced Hopper.

## What's inside

The platform is made of **six separate chips**:
- the **Rubin GPU** at the centre
- a new **Vera CPU** designed for agentic reasoning
- upgraded BlueField and NVLink
- a new external storage tier for KV cache

## How fast?

By Nvidia's own tests:

| | vs Blackwell |
|---|---|
| Model training | 3.5x faster |
| Inference | 5x faster, up to 50 petaflops |
| Inference compute per watt | 8x more |

## Who will use it

Nearly every major cloud provider, including **OpenAI**, **Anthropic** and **AWS**, plus HPE's Blue Lion supercomputer and the Doudna supercomputer at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.

Huang has estimated that **$3 trillion to $4 trillion** will be spent on AI infrastructure over the next five years.
