# Google sues Chinese scam network that used AI

## What happened
**Google** sued an alleged Chinese network called **Outsider Enterprise**. Google says it uses **AI** to send scam texts impersonating Google and other brands.

## The numbers (per Google)
- **Hundreds of thousands** of victims, with losses "estimated in the millions."
- **9,000** fake websites and **one million** fraudulent domains.
- **2.5 million** texts to Android users in **two weeks**.
- At least **36,000** payment cards stolen in **95** countries.
- The scam kit sold for **$88** a week or **$200** a month.

## The FBI
The **FBI** says that since July 2023 the platform enabled about **3.87 million** stolen cards and roughly **$1.9 billion** in losses. The FBI, with Google, seized several domains.

## Tip
Don't tap links in unexpected texts, even if they use a famous brand's name.
