# Android will detect fake AI deepfake calls

> Google is rolling out Fake Call Detection to warn you when a scammer impersonates a trusted contact with an AI voice.

## What it is
**Fake Call Detection** in **Phone by Google** fights **deepfake** voice impersonation scams.

"If a scammer tries to impersonate your trusted contact, that initial confirmation signal will be missing," Google says, so the phone can warn you.

## Availability
- Globally on **Android 12+** this month, starting with **Pixel**.
- **On by default**.
- Built on **RCS**, so other apps can adopt it.

## Also announced
- **Circle to Search** can find every item in an outfit.
- Google Play Books adds **Catch me up** recaps.
