# Gemini 3.7 Flash brings introductory pricing for coding and agent workloads

Google introduced Gemini 3.7 Flash on August 13, 2026, targeting coding and AI-agent workloads. This August 14 report examines the introductory pricing and what a practical project evaluation should establish.

## What does API access cost?

| Item | Price per million tokens |
|---|---|
| Input | $0.75 |
| Output | $3.75 |

The introductory rates run through December 31, 2026. Announced rates from January 1, 2027 are $1.50 for input and $7.50 for output. These are API prices, rather than a personal subscription fee; local service costs in Kurdistan may differ.

## What is Google claiming?

Google reports improvements in coding and multi-step work. Its published results should be understood as evaluations reported by the developer, rather than independent tests we performed.

The model card lists text, image, audio and video inputs, with text output. It also acknowledges possible hallucinations, occasional slowness and timeouts. The Flash name should therefore not be treated as a promise of identical response times for every request.

Those limitations matter when moving from a demonstration to a service that people depend on. One successful example does not establish how the system will behave across a broader range of inputs or more complex requirements.

## Token cost versus completed-task cost

For an application team, the useful question is how much an acceptable result costs. Additional attempts, corrections and review can change that calculation. A token price alone cannot describe the complete process.

Consider a software defect. Producing a plausible patch is only one stage: the change needs to address the problem and preserve required behaviour. A team could compare a known set of tasks while recording spending, attempts and acceptance-test results.

The same principle applies to document work. A longer answer is not necessarily more complete, while a concise answer may meet every requirement. Defining acceptance criteria before the comparison helps avoid rewarding output volume instead of usefulness.

These are examples of an evaluation method, rather than findings from tests we conducted on the model.

## Make the decision at project level

Our assessment is that introductory pricing creates an opportunity for a bounded evaluation. An adoption decision should also account for the announced future rates and the kind of work the application actually performs.

A model launch supplies another option. Establishing whether that option fits a particular service requires evidence from that service, rather than transferring general performance claims directly to every application.
