# Claude's paid consumer subscribers have more than doubled this year

## What the data shows
According to **Indagari**, which tracks card transactions from about 28 million US consumers, Claude's paid consumer subscriptions have **more than doubled** this year.

## The numbers
- Claude's total consumer users are estimated at 18 to 30 million. Anthropic has not disclosed an official figure.
- Most new subscribers chose the **$20/month Pro** plan.
- ChatGPT remains the largest chatbot.

## Why the jump?
- That same week, Anthropic added **Computer Use** and **Dispatch**, which are not on the free tier.
- Earlier in March, Claude also hit No. 1 on the App Store after the dispute with the Pentagon.
