# ChatGPT is pulling answers from Elon Musk's Grokipedia

**The Guardian** found that ChatGPT's **GPT-5.2** cited xAI's encyclopedia **Grokipedia** **9 times** in answers to more than a dozen questions.

## What is Grokipedia?

xAI launched it in **October 2025** after Musk claimed **Wikipedia** was biased. Journalists have found that Grokipedia contains some inaccurate information.

## When does ChatGPT use it?

- On well-known, well-documented topics, ChatGPT **did not** cite Grokipedia
- But it did cite it on **more obscure topics**
- Anthropic's **Claude** also cites it at times

## What does OpenAI say?

OpenAI said it aims to draw "from a broad range of publicly available sources and viewpoints".
