# It's official: Google's Gemini will power Siri and Apple's AI

On January 12, **Apple** and **Google** issued a joint statement: Apple will use **Gemini** models and Google's cloud technology for its future AI models.

The statement reads: "After careful evaluation, we determined that Google's technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple Foundation Models."
