# App Store adds a cheaper subscription option: pay monthly, commit for 12 months

## What's new
Apple added a new App Store subscription type: **monthly payments with a 12-month commitment**, typically cheaper than a regular monthly plan.

## How it works
- You pay every month but commit to 12 months.
- You can cancel any time, but **payments continue until the 12-month term ends**.
- Apple sends reminder emails and notifications before renewals.

## Where
- On **iOS 26.4** and later, with iOS 26.5 arriving in May.
- **Not available in the US or Singapore** at launch.

## For developers
Developers set it up in App Store Connect and test it in Xcode.
